Ryan Purchase's Apparatus Inconcinnus
Trumpetress Amy Horvey will be performing Ryan Purhase's cornet piece, "Apparatus Inconcinnus" at the International Women's Brass Conference this Saturday, June 19th. "Apparatus" is a piece commissioned by Ms. Horvey for her solo tour of Canada in 2006. It's very popular with all audiences (from kids to us snooty new-music types) and has since been performed at the Festival of New Trumpet Music, Chosen Vale, and on Edward Carroll's lecture tour of Italy. Ms. Horvey recently recorded the work for her debut solo CD, "interview", released by Malasartes Musique.
The show is at 3pm in the Humber College Auditorium and is $20/$10 for seniors and students.

Gilles Leclerc, a long time member of the Ottawa Centre and the incoming national President of the RCCO is also a talented choral and organ composer who has been composing for many years. Over the past number of years his works have been premiered in Ottawa and Montreal and have been featured at the Festival of New Organ Music in London, England.
Gilles will be giving an overview of his published and unpublished works and describe his work as a composer. Many of his works were inspired by the organ and the acoustic at Saint-Francois d'Assise so listeners will have the opportunity to hear them in situ.

Composers should also include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for the return of scores. An email will be sent confirming the score has been received.
